SC gives a presentation on Industry 4.0.
PI UK: Some companies already have piece specific manufacturing.
CW: is this vendor driving (pushed) or customer driven (pulled)? Answer: both, it is a way for competing in the 2 Seas region with other countries. Additional, it is pushed by the government. Main companies: Bosch, Siemens, Phoenix
PI UK: Industry 4.0 will help for increasing efficiency of the industry. Large problem: cyber security
PI UK: Can standardisation (of f.i. semantics, data structures) be a part of the project? Answer: this is possible. The impression is that mainly in Germany companies are cooperating.
Een vierdaagse cursus PROFINET, op ingenieursniveau, met veel oefeningen gespreid over de hoofdstukken.
De praktische oefeningen zijn in groepjes van 2, maximum 8 deelnemers per cursus. Basiskennis S7 is aangewezen, en grondige kennis van PROFIBUS DP is gewenst.
Elke groep gebruikt diverse opstellingen (IO Controller Siemens, IO devices vooral Siemens en Phoenix Contact) en meetinstrumenten zoals handheld kabelmeettool, Ethernet decoding oscilloscoop, meetsoftware, PN Inspektor, TH Link en software, NetAnalyser, switches,… in de oefeningen.
De meet- en diagnoseapparatuur is van diverse leveranciers, zoals Tektronix, Trebung&Himstedt, Softing, Hilscher, Indu-Sol, Siemens, Phoenix Contact, Procentec,…
Wireless links, integratie van een PN-segment in DP (en vice versa), I/O-jitter, verschillende types redundantie,… worden uitgebreid getest en doorgemeten.
Afsluitend is er géén examen, maar een gezamenlijke oefening fout zoeken. Een aantal cases uit de industriële praktijk komen eveneens aan bod.
De cursus loopt over 4 dagen, 2 dagen/week in 2 opeenvolgende weken: 9, 10, 15 en 16/11/2016.

Een mobiele industriële installatie (PLC, datacommunicatie, frequentieregelaars, analoge
instrumentatie, etc.) wordt gebruikt om inzicht te geven in “broad band” problemen: EMI
(ElektroMagnetische Interferentie) en EMC (ElektroMagnetische Compatibiliteit). Zowel het
inkoppelen van de storingen als de tegenmaatregelen worden op een concrete interactieve manier aangebracht.

automatisering, elektrisch onderhoud of ontwerp,…
The Voka openbedrijvendag (“company open day”) is an initiative to show to a very wide audience what companies, research centres, etc. actually do.
KU Leuven Technology Campus Gent – where INCASE is running within KU Leuven – decided to join the initiative, and open the doors of some labs, among which the “Labo Regeltechniek en Automatisering” that runs INCASE.
All visitors were presented the general ppt (161002_openbedrijvendag-alg.pdf) and a number of demonstrations related to INCASE (and some technology of EDUCAT too, in fact), and visitors with more time (or returning to the lab) also saw the more detailed ppt.
There were between 750 and 800 people visiting throughout the day. Some pictures are shown below, as impression of the day.
